Signature Construction Limited (SCL) is a leading New Zealand housing developer, specialising in low to medium density subdivisions. Part of the wider Signature Homes group of franchised building businesses, SCL has a proven track record in planning, designing and building medium density developments, particularly building new home solutions for communities. They develop and build anything from four to over 100 lot subdivisions, including terraced and three storey plus apartments.
The team at Signature Construction pride themselves on being your trusted housing development partners, and have specialized in subdivisions and high volume developments. SCL is run by Gareth Ready, who is a licensed draftsman and designer, and the team comprises a variety of professionals experienced in all aspects of construction, design, planning, management and delivery.
Signature Construction operated as a department of one of Signature Homes’ Auckland franchises for many years as it established itself as a housing developer and built relationships within the industry. In 2019, the wider Signature Homes team identified the need to incorporate a separate business due to the specialist skill set required to operate in the medium density space, and Signature Construction was born.
Signature Construction has been building for Kainga Ora (formerly Housing NZ) since the 1980s, and was the first developer to achieve a Homestar 6 rating for building healthy, warm and efficient homes for Kiwi communities. SCL is also one of the government’s chosen building partners in its capacity partnering programme, along with only four other building companies.
In 2019, SCL built this 12-unit, three-storey walk up apartment building for Kainga Ora. A mixture of two and three bedroom dwellings, this stunning precinct is clad in James Hardie Linea Oblique, with an open precast concrete breezeway with sweeping views of the Waitemata Harbour.
