The Brief
Molly and Brett love all that Raglan has to offer, and having lived there for many years, they decided it was time to build a home that truly complemented their lifestyle and growing family. Their build journey began when they purchased a stunning section in the brand new subdivision, Rangitahi in Raglan.
As their section sits right on the reserve of the Raglan Harbour, capturing the wild and ever-changing landscape was a must. Large windows and multiple areas connecting to the outdoors were high on Molly and Brett's list, as were interior elements such as wood and stainless steel features to create a cosy coastal feel.View more images of Molly & Brett's home here.
The Plan
Molly and Brett used the basis of our Toto pre-designed plan from our Pacific Collection, modifying it to suit their section and growing family. The living area faces directly out to the water, as do three out of the four bedrooms. The living room features large doors and windows to capture the stunning views all year round.
The design also needed to allow for a large decking area, with multiple areas to relax and entertain.View more images of Molly & Brett's home here.
Materials & Design features
Brett and Molly appreciate the natural environment, and even though they were building new, they wanted their home to look at ease in the wild landscape. To achieve this look, they opted for low maintenance hard-wearing dark cladding and wooden elements. Inside, the living spaces features lots of wood and a raked ceiling which helps to create the illusion of more space.

Something Special
There is something special about Raglan winters, and Molly and Brett wanted to create a cosy space for all to enjoy throughout the cooler months. Their wood burner fireplace does just this.
