Giving back
With every home we build, we’re contributing to a better, brighter future for New Zealand. We do that by adding quality, well-designed homes to neighbourhoods, but we don’t stop there. Here’s how we give back to people and the planet.
For every single Signature Homes home built, our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions created from the home's construction are counteracted by planting native trees with Trees That Count. We're also protecting our unique biodiversity by helping to save the kiwi as part of our partnership with the 'Save the Kiwi'.
Building homes can have a large environmental footprint, so we continually seek new ways to minimise our impact. That means doing everything we can to reduce waste, damage to the landscape and greenhouse gas emissions.
The emissions we do generate from our builds are mitigated through planting native trees around Aotearoa through our partner Trees That Count. That means, when you work with us, you’re helping to get New Zealand to be carbon-neutral by 2050.
Kiwi aren’t just our national icon, they’re an indicator of our environment’s health. More kiwi means an area has fewer predators, which is good news for our other precious birds and insects.
As sponsors of the Save the Kiwi programme, we’re helping protect our unique biodiversity, too.
Our people are everything – and we’ll do what we can to keep them safe and well. Our health and safety protocols are industry leading and regularly reviewed.
Our partnership with Mates in Construction helps us promote a positive environment, with on-site training and individual case management support where needed.
