For every home we build, we fund the planting of 45 native trees through our partnership with Trees That Count. These trees will stand tall for centuries, purifying our air, cooling our summers, and enriching landscapes across New Zealand.

Since 2022, Signature Homes has helped fund over 60,000 native trees, restoring forests across the country and putting us on the national leaderboard alongside iconic Kiwi brands such as Air NZ.

Why 45 Trees?

Building a home involves complex carbon emissions, from material production and transport to on-site energy use. To better understand our footprint, we engaged an independent sustainability expert. Their analysis showed that 45 native trees are needed to mitigate the emissions generated from each home build.

To our knowledge, no other builder in our category has gone this far. It’s a unique commitment to building a better future for New Zealand.

Partnering with Trees That Count

Since 2022, Signature Homes has proudly partnered with Trees That Count, a programme dedicated to restoring New Zealand’s biodiversity with native planting projects. For us, this was about making a tangible difference – proving that building a new home doesn’t need to come at a cost to the environment.

Fast forward to 2025, and our partnership has helped fund the planting of 60,210 native trees across 119 projects nationwide. We’re proud to see Signature Homes recognised alongside iconic Kiwi brands like Air New Zealand on the Trees That Count leaderboard.
