My role as a new home consultant is to make sure that we work through a very detailed planning process to capture everything you want to achieve in your new home.
During my 9 years at Signature Homes I have been involved in over 140 local homes from beautifully simple and modest homes though to very complex design and build projects.
I will bring my experience and expertise to ensure your dreams are brought to life and also make sure you are not exposed to any risk.
As we work together your budget will be respected and your ideas challenged.
The end result will be everything you want and more, whilst making sure you have a very clear understanding of how decisions affect your budget and careful exploration of your ideas to make sure we improve them where possible.
Each year, for the past 9 years, I have received multiple national awards for my service and client focus—and many more nominations including national finalist for 2015 and 2016 NHC of the Year and the Signature Homes New Home Consultant of the year for 2017 winner.

We chose Signature Homes because of Dom. Right from the first meeting, he actively listened to what we wanted, responded quickly and was not afraid to come up with ideas and observations that we needed to know. The budget was a big thing for us: we did not want to buy the land based on a wildly optimistic build price and then find out we’d missed a huge cost item. Dom was excellent at quickly and accurately scoping out how much the build was likely to cost, where we could save money or might think about spending more and getting us to that great spot of within budget and meeting our needs.
When building, some costs are outside Signature’s control. Dom was excellent in ensuring we had no financial surprises. He had very accurately forecast those incidentals and their risk, resulting in a house that came in on budget with all the features we wanted. His experience and enthusiasm for what he does make for agreat customer experience.
I just wanted to pass on our gratitude for the way that your team worked with us to get our new home built. We moved in last week and are soooo happy with it! The journey began with Dom, we can't rate him more higher, he was professional, listened to our 'wants' and literally made it happen. He kept us highly informed and made sure we were happy. Eric was fantastic. His experience is phenomenal and although he is really busy, he makes clients feel number 1! He would send us little messages of progress and what was happening next. He would also attach pictures within his texts. We were highly impressed with this level of support and service. He too is what I would consider a real asset to you guys! I want to thank you for your support with dealing with the drainage issue. I am not to sure how many directors would do this, and we were really pleased with the outcome. Jody was fantastic, and really listened to what we said. She helped us make great decisions and showed us what would work well and what wouldn't! I have to say she is an asset aye! All in all, we are so pleased with the outcome and want to personally thank you for the way that you run the Signature ship in Nelson. You have obviously worked incredibly hard to get it to where it needs to be.
Rowena, well she just loved sending invoices for payment, but again, all of what she did was done to a high professional standard. Always polite, answered queries with no hesitation or issue. Please accept our thanks for all that has been done for us. We are constantly telling people to go and see Dom at Signature. Now that we are settled in, we felt that we must thank you and your amazing team for a wonderful job done.
From your team in the office to Arran on-site and all the other trades we have dealt with over the months, the whole experience has been fantastic. Everyone we have come into contact with have been friendly and helpful - we could not have asked for more.
We have the home we wanted in the most spectacular of locations, which is something we never really envisaged.

If you are looking to build a home and are thinking that it’s way too hard and things are too complicated, then give the project to Signature Homes. We have given them the responsibility of building our new home; this is the second time that they have done this for us, and that’s why we went back to them again… because they are that good, from the time that you sign up with them until the time you open the front door to your new home… they are right there every step of the way.
We live out of town so it’s very hard for us to have a hands-on experience, but with Signature Homes, they gave us the peace of mind that they were in control right from the groundwork through to council and onto the actual building operation. Simon and Dom have been fantastic, making sure we get want we want while going over the pros and cons of every decision. They have a wealth of knowledge and have a lot of great contacts in the industry that makes things flow. We have always dreamed of building our own home but had thought this would be many years away for us. After visiting the Signature’s show home and an introduction to Dom (Signature Homes new home consultant) we discovered that this dream could happen a lot sooner than we had thought.
As newcomers to the building game Signature Homes offered to help us in any way we needed, this included securing our section and advising us what we could expect in a home with our budget.
We opted to design and build our home with the help of Dom and Adrian (Signatures Draftsman). With their great ideas and suggestions to improve on ours we were able to get everything we hoped for and more.
Throughout the design process Dom has been extremely helpful and professional, always keeping us informed on what is going on and always being there to answer any of our questions, day or night.
His knowledge of the building process with our budget in mind has been very helpful when our ideas were getting a little palatial.
We would recommend Dom and the team at Signature Homes to anyone planning to build a new home.
After relocating from Wellington at the start of the year and deciding that we would like to build (for the first time), we embarked on the process of researching various building companies and trying to find a suitable section. Over a period of about four months, we visited the various companies’ show homes, which is when we first met Dom. We must say that of all the ‘first’ meetings we had with the various company representatives, we found Dom to be the most helpful. It didn't take us long to decide that Signature Homes was our preferred building company and were further reassured by Dom’s knowledge and open friendly manner. Eventually we secured a section (one which Dom drew our attention to), and were presented with a most likely plan that would suit that site, along with early indications of the likely investment.
We really liked what was presented and appreciated Dom’s time in talking us through the plan and providing an indicative budget range. Our partnership with Signature Homes then began in earnest under their Plan Deposit Service. In return for making a small deposit to Signature Homes (that goes towards the build costs in any event), not only did we confirm our commitment to build with them, we had immediate access, through Dom, to the time and talents of the designer, quantity surveyor and some of the other ‘specialists’ required in finalising the floor plan, specifications and landscaping.
This in turn formed a comprehensive pricing plan and investment schedule that we've now successfully taken to contract stage with the utmost confidence. We’re very excited to be progressing to the next stage of building our new home! We can’t speak highly enough of Dom, his knowledge, excellent communication and endless patience while we worked through all the various ‘tweaks’ to the floor plan and finalising the specifications. His commitment and attention to detail made it a ‘stress-free’ process for us. We've experienced his collaborative approach with his colleagues and it is really evident that Signature Homes Nelson operates as a team.

Having just moved into our new home in Turner Place that Signature built for us, we just wanted to express our sincerest thanks to everyone involved. We are delighted with the finished product, the standard of workmanship throughout, the quality of appliances and fittings, but most of all with the professionalism of everyone we had dealings with over the course of the whole process. As well as being professional in every way, the team was so friendly and approachable and dealt with us as though we were the only people who mattered. As a retired builder who has spent his whole working life in the trade, I guess I am rather fussy so when I say I am totally happy with the total project, I can’t pay you all a higher compliment. Margaret is loving all the new appliances and trying them out, the extremely workable kitchen layout and the very high standard of finish and furnishings. It is now our task to landscape the grounds to match the standard set by you folk in the construction of the house. Again, to the whole team, we do offer our sincerest appreciation for a job extremely well done. It is with a lot of pride that we respond to our friends when they ask us who built the house that we say “Signature did”.

We were living in Canterbury during this process so face to face meetings were few and far between. Email communication was clear and prompt and Dominic was well planned for our few face to face meetings.
Dominic has been a friendly and knowledgeable face of Signature Homes, Nelson; we are looking forward to the building of our new home and wish to thank Dominic for all his help, suggestions and support during what could have been a fraught and difficult time.
Building a new home was quite a daunting thought considering we live in Hong Kong and would only be able to make the odd visit during the building process. Dom made the whole thing work with quite a few laughs along the way. From the moment I stepped into the show home in Richmond, Dom was there with a smile and had the answers I needed. As we were building in a rural area, there were many more things we had to consider, and Dom had all the information we needed.
Living abroad had its drawbacks, but Skype is a beautiful thing, and with emails going backwards and forwards, we always felt in touch. Whenever I was back in Nelson, Dominic was able to make appointments for us with consultants to get things organised. Everyone that Signature Homes worked with was fantastic and very, very helpful. Who knew there were so many things to choose and make decisions upon. A huge learning curve that was made easier by Dom and the team.
Once the plan and everything was sorted and went to the council for approval, Dom transferred us to the Project Manager, Jo, and Building Supervisor, Eric. Once again, these people were fantastic. Even though we weren’t dealing directly with Dom anymore, he was always available, and whenever I saw him, he had a smile and sometimes even a hug.
Thank you, Dom, for everything....you helped make our dream house come true.
